In this particular case, a canopy of greenery was chosen to give privacy from the neighbours who looked down on the area. So a pergola was built and wire was strung through holes in the pergola beams and the support posts to train climbers on.

Like more and more homes in Sydney the space to store things was at a premium. The bikes were sitting in the yard, rusting so Handy work built a lightweight pergola-like structure between the fence and the wall of the house and put a clear poly-carbonate roof on it, to maintain the light airy feel.
