NORTHERN BEACHES of Sydney & parts of North Shore
Building a new roof like a pergola with say poly-carbonate sheeting or replacing roof sections is second nature to Handy Work.
Leaks are difficult things for most people to find and much harder to repair. They sometimes come from a fair way from the damage location and mostly it is not obvious from where. Knowing building practices over the years and having dealt with hundreds of leaks, Handy Work is well positioned to find leaks and repair them. One of the leaks below in Brookvale had been ongoing for many years and had been looked at by multiple tradesmen. Handy Work found the leak and repaired it in minutes.
Roof and gutter repairs are routine for Handy Work. The only thing we will not do is take crazy risks on overly steep or dangerous roofs. Mind you, we have a multitude of ladders, including a 7.3m extension ladder with special legs for uneven ground. So we can do most repairs of gutters and roofs, safely.
Handy Work is multi-skilled in virtually all areas of property, building & carpentry improvements.
No matter whether it is new work, modifications or repairs. Get us to fix everything you need done in one go. You don’t have to hang around day after day, waiting for multiple trades, who may or may not turn up.

Roof Flashing installation to counter downpours - Pymble
The retired lady living in this home had been battling leaks into her family room every time torrential rain was experienced. Handy Work took its normal approach of systematically working through the possibilities and came to the conclusion that the rain built up on the cliplock roof and flooded back under the tiles and ran down the inside wall once the meagre existing flashing was beached. Handy Work had a specialised flashing manufactured to our measurements and stripped the tiles back and installed the continuous flashing under the tiles so that it was near impossible for the flashing to breached ever again.
Mould covered ceiling due to roof and sky light leak - Bexley
This tenanted property had a major problem with extensive mould growing on the ceiling. Because the owner was overseas, it never got proper attention until the owner engaged Handy Work to get to the bottom of the problem.
We discovered several rust penetrations in the corrugated iron roof near the skylight so I was told to replace the affected steel roofing with the cheapest roofing available, even if it was the wrong colour because the owner intended demolishing the whole house in a couple of years.
Roof Leak fixed - Brookvale
This Northern Beaches Townhouse in a strata development had been suffering a leak for almost 3 years and several tradespeople had a go. One even cut a large hole 2m x 0.5m in the plaster to see if he could find it and then advised the owner to leave the plaster unrepaired until it was fixed.
Handy Work took a holistic approach and checked the roof, then the guttering and then the side walls which is when we found the cut in the corner moulding which had not been sealed at construction. So in this case the leak was about 2m from where it showed up and could only be seen if you got up on a ladder and looked carefully at the all possible openings. This position, around the corner from the leak evidence explained why it only showed when the wind came from one direction.
Replace Bullnose Roof over Front Door - Marrickville
This otherwise stylish terrace had a small bullnose roof section which was rusty, bent and buckled and was leaking. Handy Work purchased bullnose roofing of the correct colour, removed the old roofing and replaced it with the new bullnose so the renovations the owners were doing was not ruined by that ugliness any longer.
